Background: Rylin is a mercenary from a region far to the east, as well as one of Ivan's Elemental Generals in charge of weapon development, as well as the heavy division of Ivan's forces. Her full title is "Rylin Ostrum of the Searing Flames". An expert in weapon and explosive technology, she was deemed a necessary asset for Ivan's then under-equipped forces. After only weeks of being hired for her services, Rylin had begun working for Ivan solely for the abundance of opportunity under his command.

Speech Style: Rylin speaks with a certain "fire" in her voice. She's definitely more lively than many of the other soldiers working under Ivan, and is always ready to test her new weapons in combat. In front of Ivan, Rylin becomes a bit more reserved, speaking a bit more formally and keeping composure. When fighting an opponent, she is a good deal more relaxed and lively, and frequently gets excited about the powerful displays her abilities cause, but this originally led to her weapons being melted by the heat - forcing her to construct her own weapon to compensate.

Mental/Emotional: Rylin was born into a sort of financially unstable family, where her fascination with weapon technology as well as her rather volatile temper earned her a kind of "black sheep" reputation. This - after many years - gave Rylin a sort of inferiority complex. (As her family essentially distanced themselves from her, which in turn led Rylin to believe that she was never good enough to get their attention. The only exception being her brother, Edmund, being the only one that stuck with her.) This frustration drove Rylin to leave home and become a mercenary, where she hoped to find a way to put her abilities to use and gain her family's recognition. She's essentially a pyromaniac and is often very tough on the soldiers under her command, with only a fair amount of restraint over her more dangerous tendencies. (She has been known to temporarily set her unit's clothing on fire as a punishment, and as for spies and such, they are often engulfed in flames on the spot.) Despite what some may think, there are those within her ranks that Rylin has come to respect.
